(disclaimer; I am not sponsored by any of these products or companies… these are genuinely things that I love and couldn’t knit without.)
Hello to my fellow crafty people or anyone else reading this blog,
So, www.amyknittedbits.com is a year old today. I’m proud of my website, Etsy and blog and all that I have crafted over the year. My Etsy is now totalling 79 sales which is CRAZY, it may not be a lot for some people, but for me it means so much.
Over the time I’ve been knitting, I’ve figured out certain things that make it so much easier and all the more enjoyable. So, to celebrate one year of Amy’s Knitted Bits, I thought I would let you in on my top 5 items that I can not knit without.
Here goes….
- Row Counter and Stitch Markers
This absolute BEAUTY is my favourite row counter and I could not knit without it. I love the way it looks, it’s easy to use and has a pin back which means it’s easy to attach to any knitting or crochet project. You can find it over at Botanical yarn β botanical yarn – they don’t seem to have this exact one on the website at the moment, but they do have some lovely alternatives.
Also stitch markers… I love these ones from Wensleydale Longwool Sheep Shop. Finest lustre longwool yarn how cute are the little sheep. Stitch markers are so handy to mark points in your project…. I use them for both knitting and crochet.
2. Decent Knitting Needles..
Any crafter needs decent tools. I love these Knit Pro Zinc knitting needles, they look pretty and feel so nice to knit with. They’re not too heavy and aren’t slippy to hold either. I think you can get these in pretty much any craft store.
3. Mini Scissors and Darning Needles…
Never underestimate the usefulness (if that’s even a word!!) of a good mini pair of snippers, I would struggle so much without these handy pair. Also a darning needle is a must have, although I’m sure the sofa eats them as I seem to loose them all the time!
4. Yarn Spinner
Not sure what the technical name for this is… but I call it my yarn spinner. Basically it is a genius creation that the yarn sits on while you knit and it spins around as you knit. It stops the yarn getting all tangled and honestly is such a game changer!
And last but not least…
5. A Hot Drink…
Finally and arguably the most important, I love a hot drink while I’m knitting (or doing any type of crafting). I love my knitting mug. I usually drink English Breakfast Tea, but I am partial to a good Chai Tea Latte as well.
So that is my top 5 (I snuck a couple extra in there too) knitting must haves. Message me on Instagram or Facebook (@amyknittedbits) if you have any comments, I’d love to hear your knitting must haves.
Happy Knitting π
